What is it about Route 1 that makes drivers consistently want to go 10 mph below the speed limit? What's the deal with drivers who are in suuuuuuuch a damn hurry to pull out in front of you to get into traffic (when there's nothing but wide open spaces behind you) only to then drive 5 mph slower than you were going? Crap. Had a bunch of stuff bugging me the other day; these two are all I can remember. Seriously, I had a whole Andy Rooney-esque rant working, and now it's evaporated. Guess I should write this stuff down. OK, so then I guess instead I'll dedicate this space in honor of George Carlin, whom I saw at UMaine back in the early/mid-'90s and realized I didn't like him so much anymore, but whom I once idolized and who undeniably influenced comedy. So here goes: Shit. ------------------------------ UPDATE: Remembered another one -- drivers who don't make left turns from the center lane THAT EXISTS FOR THAT EXPRESS PURPOSE, but instead just keep slowing down in front of you. Good thing I didn't have wait long to be reminded of that one. It would have kept me up nights if no one had made a left turn from the travel lane instead of the center lane.
